Catalogue

Programs

What holds the catalogue together is simple: one assessment, one written program, and several ways to carry it out. The floor session, the small group, the remote week and the workplace class are deliveries of the same plan, not separate products with different philosophies.

A certified coach writes the block after the 90-minute screen. You then choose how often you want eyes on the set — 1-to-1, a pair or trio, a capped class, or an app-delivered week with a video check. If a physiotherapist has cleared you back to loading, we file that letter beside the program and keep the work inside it. Nutrition coaching sits beside the training block; it does not replace it. Consulting for commercial gyms and condo gyms is a separate track with its own audit.

Strength training

1-to-1

1-to-1 Strength Coaching

Fifty-five minutes on a platform with a coach who already has your current block on a clipboard and in the app. The session is the week’s main lifts and the accessories that keep them honest — not a random circuit drawn on a whiteboard. Rest, stance and load are adjusted set by set. This format suits people who want a quiet room, a written progression, and a coach who will stop a lift that does not match the plan. Two sessions a week is the usual density; three is available when the calendar and recovery allow it.

1-to-1

1-to-1 Hybrid (strength + conditioning)

The same 55-minute clock, split between a strength primary and a short conditioning piece on the rower, bike or turf. The split is written in the block, so you are not bargaining for “a bit of cardio” at minute forty. Hybrid is the usual choice for desk-based members who want both qualities in one visit and for recreational athletes in an in-season holding pattern. We recommend two hybrid sessions a week; a third day, if it exists, is often a class or a remote slot. Rates match 1-to-1 strength.

Semi-Private Pairs & Trios

Two or three people book the same 55 minutes with one coach. Each person still has their own program; the shared hour is a scheduling choice, not a merged plan. It works when colleagues, partners or friends can keep the same slot and still want a coach who is looking at every working set. If one person in the trio is in a post-rehab constraint, we keep that constraint visible on the clipboard so the other two are not pulled into it. Drop-in is $62 per person; the 10-pack is $580 per person and follows the same four-month window as 1-to-1 packs.

Small-group class

Group

Small-Group Strength (max 8)

Fifty minutes, eight people, a posted template and your own loads. The cap exists so a coach can still see a squat and a hinge in the same minute. You book a named class two hours ahead; if the room is full, the app offers the next open slot. Drop-in is $28. An eight-class month is $196 and renews on the same calendar day until you cancel with 14 days’ notice. Members who already hold a 1-to-1 pack often use this class as a third weekly touch without buying another private hour.

Strength floor

Conditioning Circuits (max 10)

Forty-five minutes rotating through rowers, assault bikes and the turf lane. Intervals are written with an RPE or heart-rate cap, so a hard day on the floor is still a prescribed hard day. Class size tops out at ten because the equipment set is two rowers and two bikes plus the lane. The rate card is the same as small-group strength: $28 drop-in or the monthly class plans. This is not a second sport-specific practice; it is general conditioning that supports the strength block.

Mobility session

Group

Mobility & Mat (max 12)

Forty-five minutes on the mats: long-range work for hips, thoracic spine and ankles, plus a short floor circuit that does not chase fatigue. The room holds twelve because people need space to lie down. These sessions are included in class packs and in the unlimited monthly plan; drop-in is still $28 if you are visiting. Members commonly use a mat class on the day after a heavy lower-body session. It is a class, not a private treatment hour.

Recovery

Post-Rehab Conditioning

A 12-session block for people who have written clearance from a physiotherapist or physician and need a gym that will honour it. We file the letter, speak with the practitioner when they ask us to, and keep range, tempo and load inside the constraints they named. Sessions are 55 minutes, usually twice a week, and the block is $1,140. This is conditioning in a supervised room. We do not diagnose, treat, or replace clinical care. When the 12 sessions end, a retest decides whether you step into regular 1-to-1 or small-group training.

How we work with practitioners

Recovery

Return-to-Run Block

Ten weeks, $980, built for people who are coming back to running after time off or after a practitioner has cleared gait work. The block includes a gait video review, strength sessions on the floor, and outdoor sessions in Dundonald Park when weather and ice allow. Indoor substitutions live on the turf lane. An illustrative ten-week arc holds walk–run intervals, a strength bias for the posterior chain, and a short taper if a race is on the calendar. Clearance is required if the time off followed injury.

Remote

Motion Remote

A monthly program at $139, delivered in the app and adjusted every week by a certified coach. You send a short note on sleep, soreness and what you actually completed; the next week’s numbers move. This is the format for members who travel, work shifts, or train in a different gym and still want a written block from Bodyinmotionlife. Equipment assumptions are listed in the first week so we are not writing barbell work for a hotel without a bar. Cancel with 14 days’ notice before the next billing date.

Remote

Remote + Monthly Video Review

Everything in Motion Remote, plus a scheduled video review each month. You film two or three lifts from the angles we specify; a coach timestamps the notes and writes the next block against what the film shows. At $219 per month this is the usual choice for people who cannot get to Somerset Street West and still want eyes on a squat. The review is a coaching session on film, not a live class. If you later add floor sessions, the same program file is used so the weeks stay continuous.

Nutrition

Nutrition Coaching

Habit-based coaching at $185 per month or $495 for a 12-week block. The first conversations are about protein on the plate, meal timing around sessions, and what you already cook in an Ottawa week — including winter produce and the lunch you actually have time to eat. We do not sell supplements. We do not write clinical meal plans or replace a registered dietitian when a medical condition needs one. Members commonly pair this with 1-to-1 or remote programming; it also stands alone.

Workplace

Gym Programming Consulting

For commercial gyms and condo gyms that need a written program library, staff notes, and a floor flow that matches the equipment they already own. The audit is $1,850 and covers a site visit, a review of class templates, and a report. A programming retainer is $2,600 per month and includes monthly template updates and a call with the floor lead. This is a business service. It is not a membership and it is not personal training for residents. Kickoff is scheduled after a written scope from the operator.

What every program includes

The assessment report is a written summary of the screen, the history you gave us, and the constraints we will honour. It is filed with your program and a copy is yours. If a practitioner asked to see it, we send it with your say-so.

The written block is 12 weeks on paper and in the app, with lifts, accessory work, conditioning slots and the days you said you could keep. You see it before the first loaded session. Changes after week one are dated, so you can tell what moved and why.

App access is included for the life of the program you are on. It holds the current week, the last four weeks, and a place to tick sessions done. It is a log for the current block.

Two coach check-ins a month sit on the calendar for 1-to-1, remote and specialist blocks. They are short conversations about sleep, soreness, missed sessions and whether the week still fits. Class-only members use the floor staff at the session itself.

A retest at week 12 repeats the movement screen, the key lifts, and a plain question about pain and sleep. The next block is written from that data. Timelines are individual; a typical 12-week block is a planning unit, not a promise of a particular result.

What we don't do

We do not sell supplements, powders or “stacks,” and we do not earn a commission on anything in a shop. If a practitioner has you on a clinical product, that stays between you and them. Nutrition coaching here is habit work around food you can buy at a regular grocer in Ottawa.

We do not write meal plans that replace clinical dietetics. If you need medical nutrition therapy, we will say so and point you toward a registered dietitian. Our notes on protein and timing are coaching, and they sit beside — not instead of — care you already have.

We do not offer 24-hour unstaffed access. The studio is open with floor staff during posted hours, Monday to Saturday. If you need a session outside those hours, remote programming covers the gap without leaving the building empty.
